What are Westlaw's unique features?

  • Legislation

Westlaw is the only online service offering 'point in time' versions of consolidated Acts. Only on Westlaw can you view previous versions of sections prior to each legislative change, including the date range that each historic version was in force.
  • A to Z of New Zealand Law

    A to Z
is a unique online topic based treatment of New Zealand law that gets you up to speed on a legal issue quickly, and also acts as a springboard for wider research. The A to Z classification sheme allows you to effortlessly find all relevant content on a particular topic across the A to Z collection.

Is Westlaw part of the international Westlaw sites?

Westlaw is a stand-alone site, designed and developed by our Thomson Reuters Online team in New Zealand and Australia in partnership with 300+ local customers. The site is separate to Thomson Reuters Westlaw, but we've had full access to the best of Thomson Reuters global resources and technology.

Because the site is supported locally, we can be quick to act, e.g. posting alerts, updates and new content, and responding to customer enquiries and requests.

What is OnePass?

OnePass is a single sign on solution that allows users to have one username and password to access all their Thomson Reuters services. Your OnePass profile is like a masterkey but it needs to be linked in to Registration Keys or logins for each of the services you access.
