Description

Gault on Commercial Law brings together commentary and analysis on the principal statutes which regulate commercial activity in New Zealand. It is a valuable resource for anyone who is required to provide advice on, or to research, commercial law in New Zealand.

The format is designed to allow easy reference and quick access to relevant information, and commercial statutes included allow a wide variety of practical problems to be addressed with confidence. Gault on Commercial Law is divided up into six main subject areas, which generally contain an introduction to that area, as well as the relevant legislation and section-by-section commentary. The six main areas are: Contract and Commercial Law; Competition Law; Consumer Law; Banking and Guarantees; Agency and Bailment; Personal Property Securities.

Reissued in February 2010 following a significant rewrite and further restructured in 2017 with the advent of the Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017, Gault now consists of the above-mentioned topics. Commentary is provided on areas not originally covered, including Personal Property Securities and introductions to Commercial Contracts and E-Commerce Law. Introductory overviews on Competition Law and Banking and Guarantees are envisaged. Repealed legislation on important commercial law matters is also retained (predominantly in Online and eSub formats) with commentary for ease of research.
